Wivvies use a few basic rules when they create web pages for people / organizations / companies and these rules are pretty much the same each time.
Wivvies sets up the framework so the client can append the contents to the web page themselves from start and in the future. Wivvies has this policy in order to avoid misunderstand details about the contents and in order to lower the overall cost for the client.
Wivvies of course educates the client personnel in these matters and are able to service clients afterwards. Read the 10 commandments of web development.
Wivvies is usually a part of the more creative process when designing the web site – this is of course in cooperation with the client. That also means that the clients must be prepared with contents and overall goals more or less at the first meeting.
A good way to get started is to answer the questionnaire about web site goals.
If you already have a web hotel or server where we can place the new web site, we will do so – this will require that you give Wivvies the user id and passwords to upload information to that server. If you do not have any existing server, Wivvies will recommend you services that are affordable and stable.
Wivvies believes in the theory that the better and more detailed feedback, the better the end result will be. That is why Wivvies offers to create a prototype very early in the development phase. The prototype ensures that the communication between client and developer is based on actual content.
All Wivvies designed sites are based on CMS (Content Management Systems), which basically means that it is essential that feeding and maintaining information in the system is easy. The reason for this policy is that we want the client to be able to perform the information updates. This ensures more accurate and timely updates, and at the same time it lowers the total web site costs.
Wivvies understand that running a web site is not a one-time project. Wivvies urge the client to use Google Analytics to monitor no of visitors and how these visitors found your page.
Wivvies also suggests that we meet the client once a month to discuss further development and check visitor trends. One of the most important things to understand when implementing a web site is that the amount spent for development of the site is only a part of the total investment.
Conclusions
- Take the questionnaire for web pages
- Find all relevant material that needs to be placed on the web site: Text, images, audio, movies, flash etc.
- If you do not have the relevant material, make a plan to acquire the material (the more material you can find from the start the cheaper the web site will be)
- Take a meeting with Wivvies either face to face or via Skype
- Wivvies will make a prototype and upload it to a test site
- You will check the prototype and give meaning full feedback if any; at this point we will educate you or write documentation to ensure you understand how to use the system
- We will finalize the site and help you publish it, either on existing web server or a new web server recommended by Wivvies
- We will make sure that you are constantly up to date with visitor statistics and new possible innovations by having weekly, monthly or quarterly meeting after web site is up and running
